Exporting Oura Ring Data

How to Export Oura Ring Data

Time required: about 3 minutes. Oura generates the CSV instantly.

Step-by-step

1. Open a browser and go to https://cloud.ouraring.com/

2. Sign in with your Oura account credentials.

3. Click your profile picture (top right) → Settings.

4. Scroll to “Account” → look for “Export Data.”

5. Choose CSV (recommended) or JSON. We can read either.

6. Pick the date range — longer is better. Oura defaults to 6 months; change to “All Time.”

7. Click “Download Export” — file downloads to your browser’s downloads folder.

The file is usually a single CSV file, around 200 KB – 5 MB.

What’s in the export

  • Resting heart rate (overnight average)
  • Heart rate variability (HRV) — overnight average, considered the most reliable HRV consumer measure
  • Body temperature deviation
  • Sleep stages (REM, light, deep, awake)
  • Total sleep duration, sleep efficiency, sleep latency
  • Respiratory rate
  • Daily readiness score
  • Activity / step counts

Sending it to us

Drop the CSV (or JSON) into your secure upload link from the Verified tier checkout.

Troubleshooting

“Export Data” option not visible: Make sure you’re on the web dashboard at cloud.ouraring.com — the mobile app does not have full export. Sign in on a browser.

Date range option missing: Update your browser or try in incognito mode.

Want temperature data: It’s in the CSV by default. 1st-gen Oura doesn’t record temperature.

What we do with it

Oura’s overnight HRV and temperature data are unusually high-quality for a consumer device. We use them for: POTS / dysautonomia (HRV trend), ME/CFS (post-exertional crashes show as HRV drops 24–72 hours after exertion), long COVID (temperature deviations during flare-ups), sleep disorders (sleep efficiency and respiratory rate). We extract patterns clinically relevant to your specific claim. Identifiers scrubbed before AI processing.
