How to Export Apple Health Data (iPhone)
Time required: about 3 minutes (plus 5–30 minutes processing time). Includes data from: iPhone, Apple Watch, paired Bluetooth devices.
Step-by-step
1. Open the Health app on your iPhone (white icon with a red heart).
2. Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner. If you don’t see one, tap the person silhouette icon.
3. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the profile page.
4. Tap “Export All Health Data.”
5. Tap “Export” on the confirmation prompt.
6. Wait for the progress bar. Larger histories (years of data) can take 5–30 minutes. Keep the phone unlocked.
7. When prompted, choose how to send the file: AirDrop to your Mac, Mail to yourself, or Save to Files → iCloud Drive.
The file is named export.zip and contains the full history Apple Health has stored.
What’s in the export
- Heart rate, resting heart rate, walking heart rate
- Heart rate variability (HRV)
- Step counts, distance, flights climbed
- Sleep stages (REM, deep, core) if you wear an Apple Watch overnight
- Workouts and active energy
- Blood oxygen (Series 6+) and ECGs (Series 4+)
- Third-party data integrated with Apple Health (BP cuff, scale, glucose monitor)
Sending it to us
After you complete checkout for the Verified tier, you’ll receive a secure upload link by email. Drop the export.zip file there. Do not email the zip directly — the secure upload is encrypted.
Troubleshooting
“Export All Health Data” is grayed out: iCloud sync is in progress. Wait 10 minutes and try again.
Export keeps failing: Restart your phone first, then export.
File is huge (over 100 MB): Normal for multi-year histories. Our portal accepts files up to 2 GB.
What we do with it
Our AI extracts the patterns adjudicators care about: persistent elevated resting heart rate, suppressed HRV, fragmented sleep, reduced activity over time, oxygen desaturations during sleep. We translate those patterns into a written appendix that attaches to your application. Nothing in your export reaches AI processing until your personal identifiers have been scrubbed.
